Umitsubaki Hayama
There are three things I really like about this hotel.
1. Unusual architecture – it was awarded the Japan Good Design Awards in 2000.
2. The hotel’s website design is one of the best I have ever seen.
3. While you stay at Umitsubaki Hayama, all you will be doing (apart from eating, bathing and sleeping) would be watching the sea.

Fujiya
I visited this beautiful ryokan (Japanese inn) during the New Year holiday 2 years ago.
I have read quite a few negative reviews about Fujiya’s modern design but just couldn’t understand why when I stayed there, as the design by Kengo Kuma was absolutely amazing. I also enjoyed 5 different private onsen (hot sprint) during my stay. Definitely want to revisit Fujiya next time I am in Japan!

KOYABA TADA TADA
Another exclusive villa. This place takes only one couple per day. The island of Ohzushima has a sad history. It was the place for training human torpedos by the Japan’s military government during the Second World War. Despite this, the island looks extremely beautiful and tranquil.
